The Decision That Changed Your Life

Jul 9, 2025

Do you remember that one moment, that one small moment, that changed your life? That moment could have produced good results or bad results. When the results are positive, you congratulate yourself on your wisdom and intelligence. When it is the other way around, you wonder how you could have been so stupid. Why didn’t you know better? What made you think you could make that decision and things would turn out alright?

Making decisions can be rough, especially when other people are involved. What if you regret it? What if you’d chosen the other option? How would things be different? Will you let people down with your decision? When making a decision, there are ways that you can help your intuition guide you into the right one.

Sleep On It

You’ve probably heard the saying to “sleep on it” before. Today’s fast-paced world wants instant gratification, instant responses, instant answers. You might feel like you should make the decision right away, but there’s a lot of truth to “sleeping on it.” It’s better to take time to make a decision than to spend extra time correcting a mistake.

There are times when extra sleep will help you make the right decision and could save you time and money. If you feel pressured to decide on the spot, right now, and if you are not confident of what you should do, then take that as a warning sign to delay.

Giving yourself some rest and not ruminating on the choices will allow your subconscious to work through the options. A good night’s sleep will also clear your mind, making it easier for you to process your decision.

When it is necessary to decide on the spot, rely on your inner training and your intuition. Your training and education brought you to that point in time where you cannot wait to think it over, but what you can do is take at least a five minute timeout.

Take a Timeout

The word “timeout” probably brings to mind an image of your childhood, being sent to your room, or going to stand in the corner for misbehaving. Adult timeouts are not as punishing and are useful for centering yourself. You can take five minutes to breathe deeply or a short walk outside.

As an example, if you are in a group, excuse yourself to another room and take a few deep breaths, focus your attention at the third eye center, and ask for the right answer.

Clear your mind and say out loud to yourself:

“I  focus now at my wisdom center, the point between my eyebrows. I briefly close my eyes and look into that space, and let the white light of revelation appear before me. I ask that my higher self now reveal to me the correct decision I should make. I implore my intuition to reveal to me the decision and the consequences of this decision. I surrender to my highest good. Whether the decision goes against the grain, or any person, or my previous thoughts, I want the highest good for myself, my family, my career, and for everyone concerned.”

When you return to the room, you are confident that what you say will be for your highest good. And for everyone concerned.

Breathe, Breathe, Breathe

You have heard this many times before: take deep breaths, calm the mind and body, relax, let your intuition flow.

The purpose of deep breathing is not only to calm the mind and body, but to give your inner self the time needed to access a higher state of consciousness. You can, at any time, make snap decisions, many of which you may regret and may take more time to correct than simply waiting.

Deep breathing takes you into another dimension where you can ask for and receive the correct answers. It is a simple exercise, and you can do it anywhere!

  1. Take several deep breaths and relax. Imagine the circumstances and all the decisions associated with it are falling off your shoulders. And as they do, you feel strong, relaxed, and wise.
  2. Feel your body filled with the light as it flows down your body and relaxes the muscles, the tendons, and the nerves.
  3. Focus at the point between your eyebrows and ask for guidance. Ask of your higher self, or of a higher power to guide you.
  4. Don’t force an answer, and in fact, you may get up and feel you don’t have an answer. But the answer may surprise you when you least expect it.

All decisions are important, but the most effective are the ones in which you feel confident and secure that you have made the correct one. You never know which one will be the one that changes your life!

Be self-assured that you will always make the right decisions when you allow yourself the time to do so.
