Simplifying Mindfulness for Daily Use
What is mindfulness?
Mindfulness teachings and concepts are eternal, and learning how to be mindful can be a blessing in your life. There are many wonderful ways to be mindful.
To simplify the art of mindfulness, let’s explore what it is.
Mindfulness can be simplified down to a single concept that is easy to use daily – the concept of awareness.
Awareness
Mindfulness is being aware of what you think, what you do, and what you say.
It follows then that if you are mindful of what you are thinking, and of then speaking those thoughts out loud, you will be more careful, more intelligent, more observant of your audience, and more aware of the impact of what you say.
And, of course, by being more aware of what you think and what you say, it follows that what you do will be informed by awareness.
Why is this important?
Most people want the same things – the basics such as a home, family, a career, and the necessities of food, good health, and loving friends. Once you have established the basics, it is natural to continue to excel in your career, your art, or your relationships.
Learning self-help techniques that will help you to manifest your basic needs and your dreams is essential. There are various ways to learn self-help techniques that will improve your awareness. From the Mayo Clinic website, they propose three basic meditation routines:
Body Scan Meditation: This exercise is used to focus on your body parts in order to be aware of how they are functioning. Use this body scan to intuit any new information from your body that needs your attention.
Sitting meditation: Focus on your breath as you inhale and exhale. By so doing, you are relaxing the body by using the energy of the breath. Mentally watch your breath as it moves in and out of your body. If your mind starts to wander, bring it back and refocus on your breath.
Walking meditation: Take a short walk and focus your awareness on each step. Look at your feet and watch as the miracle of your legs take you on this walk. Be aware of your body and how it moves as you walk. Mentally think about how your body feels as you walk.
Becoming aware of the miracle of your body helps you to focus on other things as well. Awareness is an easy concept to practice in the arsenal of your mindfulness techniques.

How to Practice Mindfulness
Here are 3 easy steps to learn how to practice mindfulness:
Step 1: Be aware of what you think. One of the most powerful ways to be aware of what you think is to Be Here Now. Repeat this statement over and over until it becomes your reality: The past is only a memory. The Future has not happened. There is only Now. There is only Now. There is only Now.
Step 2: Be aware of what you say. If you are aware of what you are thinking, you will be less likely to slip up and say something you will regret. Verbal slip-ups occur when the person is not aware of what they are thinking or feeling, and a mistake just slips out. Unfortunately, it was your truth that slipped out, meaning it was not necessarily everyone’s truth. So being aware of what you think will help you not make these mistakes.
Step 3: Be aware of what you do. Accordingly, if you are aware of what you think and say, then what you do will reflect that mindset.
Reason this out: If there is only Now, then you can influence, program, and dictate the Future. If you realize that this is the first second of the rest of your life, what will that second be? How you answer that question will determine how the rest of your life will be.
Be mindful of meditation, thinking positively, thinking good things about others, and staying healthy, etc.
Be mindful of what you are doing, and then you will be able to manifest your true intentions. A successful career, plenty of money, support, and love from your family and friends are achieved by being mindful and aware.
Being Mindful is Important
Being mindful is not just a trend; it is a mindset and lifestyle.
When we are mindful, or aware, we are less likely to think, say, and do negative things that can drag us down. If you develop this mindset and use it daily, it becomes a natural habit. This is one habit that will always serve you in the most positive ways.
Be aware of yourself, your thoughts, and others. When you are, then you make room for wonderful things to enter into your life.
