Imagination: the Most Important Thing in Life

Jun 6, 2025

Do you ever imagine what it would feel like to be happy? Or, how would you feel if you had a new career? How would it feel to be loved for just who you are right now?

Or what if you had prosperity beyond the state of worry? What if you could be healthy and fit?

How would you feel if others respected you and your work? How will you feel once you get through this tough time?

The reason Einstein emphasized the power of the imagination is that everything, absolutely everything, begins with imagination.

Using Your Imagination the Right Way

Imagination is so strong, but we rarely use it the right way. We don’t imagine enough of the good stuff on a daily basis. Instead, we use imagination, one of the most powerful tools we have, in the most destructive and negative ways.

We do this without even realizing it. Focusing and imagining what could go wrong, picturing the worst-case scenarios. The reality is that while we are doing all of this negative imagining, we are using our imagination to the fullest extent. Just not in the way we should be using it.

Are you using imagination in a negative way, or in a positive way? That is the number one question to ask yourself.

Remember your younger days when you were caught daydreaming in class and got in trouble for it? Daydreaming is using your imagination and should be rewarded, not punished. We are told and grow up to believe that daydreaming is a bad thing, when, in fact, it is one of your most powerful assets!

George Bernard Shaw said, “Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine, and at last, you create what you will.”

We do imagine or daydream almost every event before it happens in our lives. The power of the imagination is greatly underrated and underused. This is because most people are not trained about, nor aware of, what their mind is doing all day long. It is somewhat shocking to most people when they realize they, themselves, have been creating their world 24/7, through their minds.

Every thought that you have ever had first originated in the imagination. Consequently, every action you take is preceded by that thought which began with your imagination; all of this whether you realize it or not.

You cannot get to work without imagining all the steps it takes to do so. The previous night you will have imagined what you will do when the alarm sounds, what you will wear tomorrow, what route you will take, whether there will be a lot of traffic or not, what meetings you will attend, how your boss will react to your work, and where you will have lunch and with whom.

How the Rich and Powerful Use the Power of Imagination Manifest Their Dreams

Successful people use tools that work for them, not the other way around. Most of the time the imagination is running rampant and compels you to act this way or that, but if you can harness the imagination to work as a tool for you, you can harness it to imagine and create a happier world for yourself.

Imagination is the most powerful tool in your tool box. Just think. You already own it, and you already possess it, but understanding, not just using, imagination is the number one key to your success. Period.

Get your imagination under your control and miracles will happen in your life, sometimes literally in days or weeks.

How Is This Possible?

Because the mind is malleable. It literally can change itself in a split second. It can instantly think one thing this second and the total opposite in the next. It can make you believe you are a very nice person one second and a horrible human being the next.

It shapes not only the concepts you have of yourself but of the entire world, which includes your loved ones and those you do not understand. It can watch the news and think the sky is falling and the world is going to end tomorrow, or it can watch the news and realize that there are plenty of positive and kind people of all sects, races and religions all around you.

Use Your Imagination With These Statements:

I am what I think I am, and I imagine what it feels like to be wealthy.

I apply myself and I succeed, and I imagine how I feel to be the most successful right now than ever before in my life.

I imagine that I am a positive person and that I am healthy and happy.

I imagine what it feels like to be happy, and successful in all my endeavors.

I imagine that my efforts to succeed are always rewarded.

I imagine abundance flows all around me, and to me.

I imagine and feel love and I receive love.

It is your imagination that eventually produces your reality, so begin today to imagine positive thoughts about yourself and your life.

Write out and practice Imagination Statements in a comfortable, private place where you can relax and let the mind fully absorb the positive vibrations of each statement.

There are categories listed below for various subjects. Also, add to these exercises what it is that would make you happy. Is it a new career? Travel? New relationship? Better health? Success in the arts? As a writer? As a painter? More respect from yourself and others? More meaning in your life? Abundance and prosperity? Spiritual understanding? Acceptance? Freedom from drug addiction? Freedom from phobias? Freedom from fear?

The list is endless, but no matter what it is you want, do these exercises, insert your desires, and use your imagination and daydreaming skills in every scenario.
